He said, “Daddy’s don’t just love their children every now and then…

It’s a love without end, Amen. (Songwriter, Aaron Barker, Artist George Strait). If there is anything you knew about Nolan, it was his Dad, Tommy loved him some kind of good and was super proud of him!

I think about the time Nolan went and spoke at Mount Olive First PH men’s group. Tommy said Nolan did such a great job and he was so proud of him. Tommy was proud of Nolan getting on the Sheriff’s Department and then completing the Highway Patrol training academy and beginning to work with the Patrol. Tommy knew Nolan was following his dream and his calling of being a public servant.

We really knew how much Tommy loved Nolan because for some reason we don’t understand, Nolan loved to try out the things he learned on the you tube chiropractor videos he watched, and Tommy was the only one of us who would let him actually practice. Lol!! The rest of us wouldn’t let him pop more than one of our fingers, but Tommy would go all in and get down in the floor and let him pop his back! Now that’s true love! 😂

It’s good to remember all the funny things Nolan did. It keeps our hearts happy! Whether him and Tommy were getting lunch together, fishing, or the many other things they did together, you can bet they were having a great time!

Tommy will be the first to tell anyone that his greatest accomplishment are his children. When a man takes time with his children, it shows. It shows in the life of Kelsea and it showed in Nolan’s life as well.

I know, I can say with certainty, that Tommy clings to the verses in 1 Thessalonians 4: 13-18 that says, Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. 14 For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.15 According to the Lord’s word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. 16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. 18 Therefore encourage one another with these words.

This week, take time to remember every Dad who has had to say goodbye. Think of Nolan and how he lived, and the legacy of love he left behind. “And now these three remain, faith, hope, and love. But the greatest is love.”
